Breeder Farm
Breeder Farm undertakes management of male and female breeding stock of poultry to produce fertile hatching eggs. Breeder management refers to:-
- Pure line management
- Parent stock management
- Grandparent stock management
Breeder Farm aims to produce more number of fertile eggs per pullet and increasing the hatchability by hygienic handling of the fertile eggs.
Hatchery Unit
Hatchery Unit undertakes management of fertile hatching eggs which comes from breeder farm. Hatchery management refers to:-
- Setter phase management(18 days)
- Hatcher phase management (03 days)
In the hatchery fertile hatching eggs are incubated for a period of 21 days and produce day-old broiler chicks.
Feed Production Unit
Feed Production Unit manufactures feed for chickens. The feed is produced specifically for different life stage requirements and may be mash or pellet feed
The processing of poultry feed is usually divided into the following steps:-
- Procurement of raw materials
- Grinding of raw materials
- Batching, mixing and Pelleting
- Packaging of feed
Broiler Farms
Broiler Farms are scientifically designed to rear chicken specifically for meat production. Day old chicks are purchased and reared upto market weight. The optimum marketing weight differs regionally.
This cycle of rearing meat purpose chicken takes 35-45 days. Therefore, a farmer can take 6-7 production cycle in a year.
Poultry Processing Plant
Poultry Processing Plant is a unit where poultry birds are processed from slaughter to packaging for sale by following the given below steps:-
